Walter G. Burba, 67, of Glen Campbell, PA died Saturday, October 5, 2019 at AristaCare @ Hillsdale Park.
The son of Michael M. and Jeannette B. (Janocha) Burba, he was born on December 30, 1951 in Spangler, PA.
Walter was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Glen Campbell, PA.
He had been employed over the years by the Greenwich Colleries; as a deputy game warden with the Pennsylvania Game Commission; with Black Gold Trucking; Butler Trucking and as an instructor at the IUP Trucking School. For a number of years, Walter was an independent owner/operator of his own truck.
He was a member of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association and the NRA.
Walter enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. He intentionally grew more vegetables then he needed, so that he could give away vegetables to his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting.
Walter is survived by his three children: William E. Burba and wife Anne of Severn, MD; Jason W. Burba and wife Laurie of Indiana, PA and Melissa M. Burba of Cherry Tree, PA; three grandchildren: Kyle Burba; Emily Burba and Tiffany Windsor and his great granddaughter, Kendall Windsor.
Also surviving are his seven siblings: Michael J. Burba and wife Jean of Milton, FL; Michaline A. Meiss and husband Sam of James Creek, PA; William M. Burba and wife Paula of Cherry Tree, PA; Francis M. Burba and wife Sandy of Commodore, PA; Joseph A. Burba and wife Theresa of Glen Campbell, PA; Theresa A. Ritzo and husband Albert of Woodbridge, VA and Christine Clevenger and husband William of Blairsville, PA
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Timothy A. Burba and his brother: Robert T. Burba.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 and again from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. A 12:30 p.m. funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Church of the Resurrection in Glen Campbell, PA with Fr. James B. Morley officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Glen Campbell, PA.
