An Indiana man was sentenced yesterday in connection with a guilty plea for supplying the drugs that resulted in a man’s death in 2016.
U.S. Attorney Scott Brady announced on Tuesday that 31-year-old Justin Kromer was sentenced by federal judge Mark Hornak to serve 70 months in prison and five years of supervised release. Information presented in court showed that on March 30th of 2016, Kromer possessed and distributed stamp bags marked “Block Party” that contained a mix of heroin and fentanyl. Some of that ended up in the hands of an Indiana man, identified only as J.W., who died the same day due to an overdose of the drugs. As part of his guilty plea, Kromer accepted responsibility for J.W.’s death.
Also in connection with this case, Demiyr Johnson of North Braddock was sentenced in 2019 for supplying Kromer with the drugs. Kromer told police Johnson sold him the heroin in Wilkinsburg.
