Idlewild Park & Soak Zone finally posted its 2021 schedule yesterday, with plans to open for the season on Memorial Day weekend.
The 144th Idlewild season begins Friday, May 29th, and some of the attractions that did not open in last year’s shortened season will be back, including Story book Forest and Captain Kidd’s Adventure Galley.
Covid protocols will require visitors to wear a mask at all times and have their temperatures taken in order to gain admission to the park, and capacity will be limited.
Idlewild is looking to hire 600 seasonal workers and several full-time employees.
After opening for Friday through Monday the first weekend, the park will reopen the following weekend for just Saturday and Sunday. For the rest of June, it will close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In July it will be open six days a week (closed Tuesdays). In August, with many student workers headed back to school, it will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through the 22nd, and then be open only for the following two weekends.
