Blairsville Borough Council on Tuesday approved a new ordinance concerning street paving projects.
Ordinance 704 deals with projects that tear up part of a borough street and repairing the road to bring it back to good condition after the work is done. The ordinance says that anyone who tears up the road must pave the street, road or alley from the center line to the curb where the work was performed. Councilman Ab Dettorre said that similar ordinances have been passed in other areas, and it sets a standard for the repair.
The ordinance passed unanimously.

In other business, the borough accepted a donation from the Blairsville Eagles of nearly $6000 for ten bodycams for the police department, along with a charging station. The money will also cover the video storage. The bodycams will be put into use after the borough council approves the bodycam policy written by Chief Louis Sacco, and currently being worked on by the borough solicitor.
