On Thursday night, the Homer-Center School Board accepted resignations from a board member and the long-time secretary to the board and superintendent.
Michael Schmidt is stepping down from his position on both the board and the Homer-Center Parks and Recreation Commission. He was elected to the board in 2019. Board member Dr. Christa Pontani-Palmer called Schmidt someone who worked hard for the district.

To take his spot on the board for the remainder of the term, the board interviewed and then appointed Emily Ayers to the board. She is an educator with the Penns Manor School District. She talked about what she is looking forward to doing on the board.
The board also accepted the resignation of Rhonda Clifford, who has served as the secretary for the board and the Superintendent for 25 years. The board hired Erin Collins as the new secretary effective July 1st.
