UPDATE: The Westmoreland County Coroner’s office has identified the victim in the fatal crash on Monday as 49-year-old Regina Endress of Josephine. Coroner Tim Carson said that she was driving north on Route 217 when her car collided with a van head-on. A child in the car with her was taken by medical helicopter to a hospital in Pittsburgh. She reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
At least one person is dead following a crash in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.
Fire crews from Bradenville, Latrobe and Blairsville, along with state police from the Kiski barracks were called to Route 217 near Pizza Barn Road and the Derry Stone Quarry shortly before 2 o’clock Monday afternoon for reports of a crash with heavy entrapment. Two children were also involved, according to reports.
Your Hometown Radio Stations confirmed the Westmoreland County Coroner’s office was called in to investigate. Crews are still on-scene and traffic has been closed off in both directions.
