Another major Indiana County Corporation has announced their support for a new mental health facility for Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Representatives of the Kovalchick Corporation announced this week that the company has contributed $500,000 to be put towards the new 31,000 square foot mental health center on the campus of Indiana Regional Medical Center. The new facility will address the mental health needs of the area, which have skyrocketed since 2020. The facility will be made up of 44 beds and will care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
This announcement comes after S&T Bank announced in January that they would also make a $500,000 donation towards the facility. Work is continuing to get the facility funded. That includes the work of the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission, Armstrong-Indiana Behavioral Health and Development Program, and Southwest Behavioral Health Management working with the hospital to get a $4.8 million HealthChoices reinvestment grant through the state Department of Human Services.
