From IRMC
For 17 years, the Easter Bunny and County Sheriff Bob Fyock have visited IRMC. On March 26, 2024, that tradition continued.
The Easter Bunny Foundation is a non-profit corporation which was founded by Sam and Eleanor Meiner in 1995. It was officially endorsed by the National Sheriffs’ Association in 2005. The mission of the foundation is to partner with Sheriffs’ nationwide to visit hospitalized/sick children during Easter.
The first stop was the Pediatric Care Center, where we met with a Maia, who was excited to encounter the Easter Bunny. EB (aka Easter Bunny) next stopped at IRMC’s Center for Wound Healing to visit with staff and patients.
The next stop was the Human Motion Institute, where we met with Dr. David Wilson, an orthopedic surgeon, and the staff members from the orthopedics office, and three very excited brothers and sister in the lobby. The journey continued to Indiana Pediatrics Associates, where we met up with Lilly and her sister, who loved their new pink and purple plush stuffed bunnies. Austin, a patient at Indiana Pediatrics Associates, was not expecting the Easter Bunny to be at his visit.
The day was complete with a visit to our It’s a Wonderful Life Maternity Center, where we met with two excited families and their newborns. The Easter Bunny surprised everyone with a complimentary plush stuffed bunny and coloring book.
Maximus Julin and Tim Birch, of the Indiana High School Leadership Club, kindly volunteered their time.
“It is always a great opportunity for me to show the human and caring side of law enforcement and our public service. Seeing all the smiling faces of everyone, the patients, family members, visitors as well as
the hospital staff when they see the Easter Bunny really gives you a great feeling. It makes it all worthwhile,” stated Sheriff Fyock.
