At a meeting last night, the Indiana School Board congratulated students who excelled in athletic and academic fields.
Students from the Dance, Girls Basketball, swimming and diving and wrestling teams were honored for their recent achievements in the post-season, including the PIAA Championship won by the swimming and diving team, along with the accomplishments of the Democracy team. Superintendent Robert Heinrich expressed a lot of pride in the students.
The board approved two projects: one will provide paved walkways to playgrounds at East Pike and Ben Franklin. Heinrich said that this will make the playgrounds more accessible to everyone. The other project will replace lighting pole safety climbing systems for the lights at the high school stadium.
