Indiana County’s first responders were busy on Monday with several calls, including a water rescue that was reported near Yellow Creek State Park.
The water rescue was reported at 11:59 AM at a location on Black Hawk Road near Yellow Creek State Park and Camp Seph Mack. Blairsville, Saltsburg, Tunnelton and Cherryhill Township fire departments were called out at the time, along with DCNR, PA Fish and Boat Crews, Citizens’ Ambulance and state police.
The 25th brush fire of the year was reported yesterday as well, with Saltsburg fire department called out to a location on Route 286 in Westmoreland County at 5:02 PM.
Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments were called out for standby detail this morning in Westmoreland County, as a fire was reported at 2:50 AM at the Latrobe 30 shopping plaza. Reports say that the fire started outside a country living store and spread to other stores. Two stores took on serious fire damage, while the other stores took on smoke and water damage.
