BASEBALL
For the second straight day, Indiana was edged by North Catholic. This time it was 3-2. Down 2-0 after three innings, Indiana tied it in the top of the fourth, but North Catholic pushed across a run in the bottom of the inning and held on for the win. Mark Collinger had two of Indiana’s 6 hits and Ben Ryan and Charlie Manzi both doubled. Trevor Smith and Ethan Shank drove in the Indiana runs. Tommy Koroly homered for North Catholic.
Homer-Center scored 2 in the 5th and 3 in the 6th and went on for a 7-2 win over Penns Manor. Owen Saiani doubled home Brayden Rado and Caleb Palmer’s sacrifice fly brought in Nash Budner in the 5th, then in the 6th Ethan Roser doubled home Saiani and Palmer. Rado and Roser each had 2 hits for the Wildcats and Noah Turk went 6 innings, giving up one run and striking out 10. Tyler Cooper and Kayden Detwiler both had 2 hits for the Comets.
Marion Center scored 5 runs in the 1st inning and 9 in the 3rd as they walloped Purchase Line, 18-3. Camden Rising and Noah McCoy both had two hits with a home run. Alex Stewart and Trent Slovinsky both had two hits. AJ Chambers had two hits for the Red Dragons.
Trailing 2-0, United put up 8 runs in the 2nd inning, but Cambria Heights chipped away at the deficit and led, 10-9, heading into the bottom of the 7th. But the Lions scored 2 runs for a walkoff 11-10 win. Isaac Worthington had 3 hits and Cole McGinnis had 2 hits, including a three-run double in the 2nd. Travis Timko had 2 hits for the Lions. For the Highlanders, Garrett Jasper, Anthony Swander, and Bryce Lewis each had 2 hits.
River Valley scored 4 runs in the 3rd and 5 in the 4th to put away West Shamokin, 13-5. Merreck Smith had 2 hits, including a home run, and drove in 4 runners. Caden Vresilovec, Sammy Yanits, and Eric Dinger all had two hits. West Shamokin had 5 hits by 5 different players and Max Long drove in two.
SOFTBALL
Marion Center drubbed Purchase Line, 11-1. Mya Lipsie had 2 hits and Cheyenne Silvis struck out 9 for the Stingers.
West Shamokin scored 6 in the 7th to take out River Valley, 11-3. Madi Keirn had 3 hits and Maria Young, Leah Mondi, Aleya Talmadge, Briar McClafferty, Avery Elkin, and Lily Jordan all had 2 hits for the Wolves.
Cambria Heights opened the game with an 11-run first inning and sprinted away from United, 18-3. Sidney Nihart had 3 hits and Margaret Elias had 3 hits with a home run. Brea Kountz, Gina Lane, and Olivia Deckard all had 2 hits and Deckard also homered. Cleo Long and Abby McConville both had 2 hits for United.
TRACK & FIELD

BASKETBALL
The Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State boys basketball teams were announced yesterday. No Indiana County players made the teams. From the Heritage Conference, Conemaugh Township’s Jon Updyke made second team Class AA and Conemaugh Valley’s Jeremy Dietz made second team Class A.
