Indiana’s girls and boys basketball teams played a doubleheader last night at Fifth Street Gym, and both teams won. Jake Slebodnick has the recap.(Indiana Girls beat Latrobe, 48-44 while the boys topped Armstrong, 60-57.)
HERITAGE CONFERENCE GIRLS
Penns Manor led by 6 after one quarter and then put together a 15-3 second quarter as they ran past Purchase Line, 56-38. Alyssa Altemus had another big night, scoring 28 points with 11 rebounds and 5 steals, while Allie Mumau scored 13 with 8 rebounds. Jianna Hopkins led the Red Dragons with 18 points on 6 three-pointers.
Brynnley Haggerty scored 18 points and Macie Miller had 14 with 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals as Marion Center outpaced Homer-Center, 51-23.
River Valley topped West Shamokin, 63-31.
Portage downed Cambria Heights, 49-46.
HERITAGE CONFERENCE BOYS
A 21-10 second quarter gave Homer-Center the margin it needed as the Wildcats downed Marion Center, 61-49. Angelo Alexander led Homer-Center with 22 points and Max Voyda added 15. Noah McCoy scored 14 points, Kamden Rozier 13 and Cameron Pack 11 for Marion Center.
JUNIOR HIGH
West Shamokin’s 8th grade team beat River Valley’s girls, 39-29. The Wolves’ 7th graders also won, topping the Panthers, 20-16. You can read about the game at our website, ___.
