Tuesday night, Homer City Borough Council formally accepted the resignation of police chief Anthony Jellison.
Jellison was the chief of police until March of this year, when the full-time position was officially eliminated. He said that he is resigning his position due to his need for full-time employment.
Jellison’s last official day at work will be May 28th, but as per his prior agreements concerning his pay, he will officially be removed from the borough payroll on August 30th. This resignation is not expected to affect the prior agreements between Jellison and the Borough. Sgt. Bill Clement was named by council as acting Officer-In-Charge on Jellison’s recommendation.
Council also gave approval for a new business. After conditionally passing the zoning hearing board, council approved the site plan for the future Yellowcreek Bread Company to be located on Yellowcreek Road. Final approval from the zoning board will come when the Department of Health signs off on the business.
