The Big Lots store on Philadelphia Street in Indiana is scheduled to reopen tomorrow.
The store was one of many across the nation that closed as the company went through bankruptcy proceedings. Variety Wholesalers bought 219 of the chain’s stores earlier this year, and while some stores reopened last month, another 78 of them across nine states are set to go back into business on Thursday.
In the run-up to tomorrow’s opening, the store had posted notices that they were once again hiring. Variety Wholesalers announced that while the store would still maintain the “treasure hunt” atmosphere of the brand, it would move its focus away from furniture and put more attention to apparel. Also, the grocery offerings are expected to be scaled back, focusing more on shelf-stable items and not having any perishable items on the shelves.
