Multiple fire departments were sent to the Indiana Junior High School for an automatic fire alarm at 5:54 AM.
Crews entered the school on the Chestnut Street side near the gym locker rooms. In a room housing the generator, some oil leaked onto the machinery, causing a lot of smoke. Indiana Fire Association was on-scene initially and summoned Clymer, Creekside, Homer City and Coral-Graceton fire departments, the Hazmat Team and Citizens Ambulance about a minute later as a precaution, but once the cause was discovered, the other departments were cancelled.
No injuries were reported.
