The start of the Penguins season will have a definite New York flavor. The NHL released the schedule for the ’25-’26 season yesterday. After opening at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers on October 7th, the Pens will play the New York Islanders in their home opener two nights later, then welcome Mike Sullivan and the Rangers on October 11th. That will be followed by the first West Coast road trip, at Anaheim, Los Angeles, and San Jose October 14th, 16th, and 18th.
Other highlights of the schedule include a two-game road trip to Stockholm, Sweden, to play the Nashville Predators on November 14th and 15th. The Pens’ traditional Thanksgiving Eve home game will be against Buffalo on November 26th. The NHL schedule goes on hiatus for the Olympics after the Penguins play Buffalo on February 5th, with a return to action on the 26th at home against the New Jersey Devils.
