The Indiana Area school board tomorrow night will consider a resolution to “urgently request” that the state House bring House Bill 41 to the floor for a vote. The bill would allow the PIAA to create separate championships for public and private schools. The PIAA has stated repeatedly that it will not consider separate tournaments unless state law specifically gives it that authority.
There are also several personnel and property issues up for consideration on Monday’s agenda, and the ARIN Intermediate Unit’s budget, for which Indiana Areas portion would be $157,152.
Purchase Line’s board meets on Monday night as well, with an agenda full of personnel items, including the hiring of head coaches for football, volleyball, and cross country. There are a number of school trips up for approval, and the ARIN budget, for which Purchase Line’s share will be $27,539.
United’s board will hold a voting meeting on Tuesday. Penns Manor’s board meets for a voting session on Wednesday.
The White Township Planning Committee meets on Tuesday and the supervisors on Wednesday. Discussion on the Planning Committee agenda includes the Rustic Lodge property.
Indiana Borough Council’s Planning Committee meets on Tuesday afternoon and there’s a public safety meeting on Tuesday evening. There is also a “community development meeting” planned on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
