Powerful storms hit Indiana County yesterday afternoon and evening, causing power outages and putting emergency responders in action across the area.
Scattered outages remained across the region into Sunday, with Penelec summoning additional crews due to “the complexity of the repairs.” REA reported trouble spots, primarily in eastern and southeastern parts of Indiana County and in Derry and Loyalhanna townships in Westmoreland County.
Reports of utility lines down came from Route 210 in North Mahoning Township; Kimmel Road, Leroy Road, Pearce Hollow Road, and Miller Drive in Rayne Township; Logan Road, Rock Run Road, and Wilgus Road in Montgomery Township; Schultz Road in Buffington Township; and Curry Run Road and Lewis Road in Armstrong Township.
There were additional dispatches for a vehicle accident on Church Street in Indiana Borough and a brush fire along Route 954 in Washington Township.
