IUP held Charleston to six points in the final quarter.
Nyshae’ Weaver led the Crimson Hawks with 18 points. Teresa Maggio added 17 points and Marin Miller scored 12.
IUP takes on Seton Hill in the semifinal round Saturday at the KCAC, airtime 7 pm on U92.5 FM.
Meanwhile, the IUP men start their Division II tournament run in the Atlantic regionals today with a game against Fairmont State at Gannon. This marks the first time in two years that the Crimson Hawks are in the Men’s Atlantic Regionals. The two sides have met 15 times series history, with IUP holding a 10-5 lead all-time. The two teams have also met four times in the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament, with the Crimson Hawks winning three of those Atlantic Regional matchups. However, IUP dropped the most recent tournament meeting in 2017.
