Songwriter Chip Taylor is dead at 86-years-old.
Trainwreck Records, the independent label he launched in 2007, shared the news in a statement writing “although Chip will be greatly missed, his music will live on and continue to inspire others for years to come.” Taylor wrote Juice Newton’s version of “Angel of the Morning” and Willie Nelson’s “He Sits at My Table.”
The songwriter also wrote songs for other artists including Johnny Cash, Linda Ronstadt, Tom Petty and more.
