The Department of Environmental Protection has scheduled a public hearing on Homer City Generation’s proposed 5.8 mile natural gas pipeline that will feed the new power plant in Center Township, and the group “Concerned Residents of Western PA” plans to meet today at The Artists Hand in Indiana to prepare for it.
Calling it a “supportive and action-focused meetup”, the gathering today is from 1 to 3 PM, and the group promises “practical guidance and helpful resources to help you prepare your comments (at the hearing) and feel confident speaking up.”
The hearing will by May 12th from 5 to 7 PM at the Indiana Theater downtown. Only public comment on the pipeline project will be accepted. Those who wish to speak are encouraged to pre-register by email, although you may also comment as time allows without pre-registering. The address to pre-register is below.
Prior to the hearing, a rally held by the group Indiana County Common Good will be held at IRMC Park in downtown Indiana from 4 to 5 PM.
