A man charged in connection with a drug-related death was sentenced yesterday.
Indiana County Judge Michael Clark ordered 40-year-old Victor Marcinik of Pittsburgh to spend five months to a day less than two years in Indiana County Jail and five years of probation for charges of involuntary manslaughter and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The charges came from an incident in August of 2024 in the 1000 block of Church Street where authorities were called out for a man suffering from cardiac arrest and dying despite life-saving measures being taken. Indiana Borough Detectives determined the heart attack was triggered by drugs that Marcinik provided.
Also sentenced yesterday was a man charged with a break in in February of 2024. Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco ordered 44-year-old Paul Llwellyn of Marion Center to serve two months to a day less than two years in Indiana County Jail for criminal mischief and criminal trespass for the break-in at Betty Lou’s in Commodore. He shot out a window at the store and crawled through the broken glass to gain entry. Nothing was taken. He was also sentenced to a similar punishment for a second case where he pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property. He will start serving his sentence on May 11th.
