The Heritage Conference held its softball and baseball championship games last night, and the two undefeated teams heading into the action are still undefeated today. West Shamokin beat Conemaugh Valley to repeat as softball champions and Conemaugh Township won in dramatic fashion to take its first baseball championship.

It was a different story in the battle for the Heritage Conference baseball championship between Marion Center and unbeaten Conemaugh Township. Jake Slebodnick has the recap of a dramatic win for the Indians.
Conemaugh Township coach Tim Doyle says his boys didn’t get rattled when Marion Center came back to tie the game.
There were other Heritage Conference teams in action yesterday, looking for District 6 rankings points to complete their regular season schedules with the maximum twenty games.
SOFTBALL
Homer-Center hammered Glendale, 17-3 in five innings. Bri Birchall and Madison Brendlinger each had three hits for the Wildcats, and Isabelle Rowland had two. Homer-Center banged out twelve hits and drew eleven walks, and they stole five bases, including stealing home twice.
Portage took a 6-4 lead in the fifth inning but couldn’t hold off Northern Bedford, losing 7-6 on a walk-off in the seventh.
