State police have released more information on a car crash that happened on Monday in Conemaugh Township.
Troopers were sent at 8:23 AM to the crash where Route 286 intersects with Pillips and Tunnelton Roads. Leon Bash, an 80-year-old from Clarksburg, was driving his car South on Phillips and tried to cross the highway when a tractor-trailer driven by 64-year-old Larry Niebert of Indiana hit him. Bash had to be extricated from his car and was taken to UPMC Presbyterian by Murrysville Medic One for treatment of suspected serious injuries. Niebert was not hurt.
