Indiana County’s unemployment rate went down in the month of March.
The state department of Labor and Industry reported that Indiana County’s Seasonally Adjusted unemployment rate was 4.4% in March, a drop of two-tenths of a percentage point from February’s numbers and from March of 2025. Comparing Indiana to our neighboring counties, Westmoreland and Clearfield counties are the lowest at 4.0%, Jefferson county is at 4.2, Armstrong is at 4.4, and Cambria county is the highest at 4.8%
Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate for March is 4.2% while the National unemployment rate is 4.3.
The Indiana County Labor force, those working or looking for work, went up by 100 to 35,900. Employment went up by 100 for the month.
