It’s a championship week for three area high school teams, and all of them are looking to defend last year’s titles.
The Indiana baseball team plays a rematch with Elizabeth Forward in the WPIAL Quad-A Championship Game at EQT Park in Washington County, the home of the Washington Wild Things. Indiana beat Elizabeth Forward for the WPIAL title last year, 4-2 in eleven innings on a two-run walk-off home run by Charlie Manzi. Airtime tomorrow on WDAD will be 6:45, with first pitch scheduled at 7.
On Wednesday, Homer-Center will look to defend its District 6 Class A baseball title, meeting Claysburg-Kimmel at 3 PM at Mount Aloysius. The Wildcats beat Juniata Valley for the D6 title last year and beat the Hornets again on Friday in the semifinals. Last year, they erased a 9-3 deficit and beat Claysburg-Kimmel 10-9 in the quarterfinals. You’ll be able to see that game on Renda Digital TV.
On Thursday on Renda Digital TV, West Shamokin will try for its second straight District 6 Double-A softball championship, tangling with Bellwood Antis at Claysburg-Kimmel High School.
