Altoona and Akron were tied at 5 when their game was suspended by rain last night. They will pick up the game in the top of the seventh this afternoon before playing the regularly-scheduled Thursday game.
Jack Brannigan hit an inside-the-park three-run home run in the first inning when a Rubberducks outfielder made a diving attempt at a fly ball and missed, the ball rolling behind him. Omar Alfonzo homered for the Curve in the second and again in the sixth for the first multi-homer game of his career.
Left-hander Connor Oliver makes his second Double-A start for the Curve tonight. After going 4-0 at Greensboro, he threw four-and-a-third innings in his first start last week, giving up three runs, one earned against Chesapeake.
