A Creekside man was found guilty yesterday of two counts connected with an assault in 2025 in Washington Township.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced that the jury returned guilty verdicts of simple assault and harassment against 36-year-old Steven McClurg, while he was found not guilty on a charge of terroristic threats. The charges stemmed from an incident on July 5th of last year. State police were sent to a home in Washington Township. Through their investigation, they discovered that McClurg threw picture frames off the wall then assaulted the victim, identified only as a woman. Police reported injuries on her face and body.
The jury was selected Monday morning and the trial took place on Tuesday into Wednesday. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 31st, with a pre-sentence investigation to take place.
