Pennsylvania State Police and PennDOT are teaming up for Operation Yellow Jacket today and tomorrow in Indiana County.
The enforcement effort puts troopers inside PennDOT maintenance vehicles to watch for speeding and “Move Over Law” violations, then radio nearby patrol units to make traffic stops.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and move over when approaching emergency vehicles, tow trucks, highway crews, or disabled vehicles displaying warning devices.
State police say the operation is designed to improve safety for motorists and the emergency responders and road crews working along Pennsylvania highways.
