An Aultman man will have a preliminary hearing on July 21st for shooting at state troopers during a standoff in Aultman on Wednesday.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, state police were contacted by county crisis responders and family members who believed 73-year-old Harry B. Lloyd was trying to hurt himself. Troopers established a perimeter at 6:21 PM. One trooper found Lloyd behind a bedroom door in the basement and started to talk, but Lloyd reportedly fired a shot through the closed door near the trooper. Other troopers arrived and he fired a second shot through the door at them. He surrendered early Thursday morning after nearly eight hours and was taken into custody at 3:10 AM.
Lloyd faces 12 felony counts and four misdemeanor counts, including eight felony counts of aggravated assault, two felony counts each of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and assault of a law enforcement officer along with two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and single misdemeanor counts of possession of a weapon and possession of an instrument of crime.
