Monday morning, Clymer Borough Council appointed Joshua Hayes as the newest member of council.
Hayes was sworn in immediately following his appointment. He is a Clymer resident with a background in finance. Hayes said he was proud to be a part of council.
Council also approved several items that were related to road work in the borough. This includes applying for a grant from the Commonwealth Finance Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund Program in the amount of $2,988,950 for the Clymer stormwater and paving project in the Sample Run area of the borough.
Borough Manager Sonya Schrenkel explained the reason for the project.
Council also approved advertising for bids for the Sage Street paving project and street improvements for Dixon Road, Rodney Street, 15th Street 10th Street, Willow Avenue and Hines Street.
