The number of measles cases in Pennsylvania has gone over 900 for the year.
The State Department of Health reports that the number of cases went up by 114 over the last seven days to 903 cases. 176 people have been hospitalized across the state, and there have been four measles-related deaths. Lancaster has seen the most, with 363 cases this year, as the county was the starting point for the measles outbreak. 31% of the cases reported this year are in those under the age of 18.
No new cases were reported in Indiana County since last Friday, with that total remaining at 14. Jefferson County has 41 cases, with Clearfield at 28, Armstrong and Westmoreland at two apiece and Cambria County at 1.
In the year so far, over 8000 total MMR vaccine doses have been administered by Department of Health staff.
