MLB
The Milwaukee Brewers are one game away from dethroning the two-time defending World Series champion Dodgers after a 6-2 win in LA last night. That puts the Brew Crew up 3-0 in the NL Championship Series. Game Four is today with the Dodgers sending Tyler Glasnow to the mound to try to save the season. Milwaukee hasn’t named a starter. First pitch is scheduled for five o’clock.
In the American League Championship Series, two right-handers square off this afternoon in Tampa Bay. The Rays will use Griffin Jax against Cleveland’s Gavin Williams. That series is tied at a game apiece. First pitch is scheduled for one o’clock.
MANAGERS
The Astros have fired manager Joe Espada after three seasons that included two AL West championships. They fired general manager Dana Brown in August. Espada will interview for the Seattle Mariners’ job after the M’s fired manager Dan Wilson following their regular season finale.
The Phillies will keep Don Mattingly as their manager. The team took the interim tag off Mattingly yesterday and extended his contract through 2028.
