Today is the annual Love of Life 5K to benefit the Women’s Imaging Center at IRMC.
Hundreds are expected to join the annual benefit run, which will start and end near 8th and Philadelphia Streets in Downtown Indiana. Runners and walkers will make their way towards IRMC and Mack Park, covering the perimeter of IUP’s campus before taking the same route back to the start line.
Heather Reed with the Indiana Healthcare Foundation says that she anticipates another record-breaking year for the 5K run and one mile walk and says it is inspiring to see everyone taking part.
She also said that since the race has reached over 700 participants, there will be a surprise announcement this morning.
The run benefits the Love of Life campaign which helps the Women’s Imaging Center at IRMC. The fundraiser this year is part of a multi-year effort to purchase a new 3-D mammography machine.
