Karen F. Fairbanks, 63 of Homer City, PA, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026 at her home. She was born February 25, 1963 in Indiana, PA, the daughter of the late Orville “Ray” Fairbanks and Gertrude (Uncapher) Fairbanks. Karen was a 1982 graduate of Purchase Line. She enjoyed watching her shows, playing cards and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Shawna Lyman & husband, Wayne, Homer City, PA; daughter, Ashley Sewell, Indiana, PA; son, Joshua Fairbanks, Indiana, PA; grandchildren: Morgan Fairbanks (Bradley), Rilyn Sewell, Lilly Beard, Shayln Beard & Rosalie Sewell; siblings: Judy Henderson, Altoona, PA, Peggy Durst, Penn Run, PA, Donald Fairbanks, Altoona, PA and Richard Fairbanks, IN and also several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Joseph O’Brien and siblings: Elma Bash, Betty Fairbanks, Linda Barbus & Bonnie Yatsko.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Sunday, October 25, 2026 from 3-6 PM, with a funeral service at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ferguson Funeral Home, 25 W. Market St., Blairsville, PA 15717 to help with funeral expenses.
