Fire Departments and other groups are warning people to be careful about burining.
While we have had some rain recently and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources lists the county in the “low fire danger” category, people are being asked to take care when it comes to controlled burns. Autumn is one of the prime times for wildfires with leaves falling and drying, creating a “deep, fluffy layer” that creates a fire hazard.
No advisories are in place, but the Center Township Supervisors earlier this week advised everyone to take care if burning. That sentiment was echoed by the Indiana Fire Association in a post on the department’s Facebook page.
