West Shamokin strung together three consecutive hits in the bottom of the eighth inning to plate the winning run in a 6-5 victory over Marion Center that propelled the Wolves into Monday night’s Heritage Conference championship game against Conemaugh Valley.
Cameron Vandervort had three hits, including a double and triple, and Zoe Bennett added three hits, while Maya McIlwain and Leah Mondi each had two hits, too. Malena Stewart also had two hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs.
With the win, West Shamokin advances to the Heritage Conference championship game against Conemaugh Valley at Northern Cambria on Monday night. You can watch the game on Renda Digital TV beginning with the pregame at 6:30.
