At last night’s school board meeting, the River Valley school district was presented with a grant from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters.

Renda Media Vice President and General Manager Mark Bertig was on hand last night to hand over a ceremonial check for $61,185 to support the district’s Communications Media and Digital Production program. Bertig, who is also a member of the PAB board of directors, said that he was impressed with the growth of the program after a recent visit to the school and were able to identify equipment and technology that could take the program to the next level.
The funds will be used to purchase several items including a news anchor desk, professional cameras, audio recording equipment, in-game production software and technology for multi-camera productions. This equipment will help create real-world opportunities for students in the program.
