Despite rumors to the contrary, Governor Tom Wolf said that he will not order the closure of schools for the fall.
In a tweet released yesterday, Governor Wolf said that there were widespread rumors that he would announce another statewide closure of school buildings and cancel classes for the fall. Wolf added, “I want to be clear: I am not closing school buildings or cancelling classes.”
Wolf said it will be up to school boards to make decisions on whether buildings will reopen. Those decisions have been made in Indiana County, with many schools starting in late August or early September.
