A Mesoscale Discussion has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center for our region. We continue to monitor storm development this afternoon.
A Mesoscale Discussion (MCD) is a Storm Prediction Center (SPC) or Weather Prediction Center (WPC) product issued 30 minutes to several hours before a weather watch. It acts as a technical “heads-up,” analyzing rapidly changing atmospheric conditions—such as severe thunderstorms, heavy snow, or freezing rain—and signaling high-potential, localized risks that may soon require watches or warnings.
