In the District 6 Class A baseball playoffs, fifth-seeded Homer-Center travels to Saint Joseph’s this afternoon. The Wildcats are 11-9, while the Wolfpack comes into the game at 9-9. It’s on WCCS, 101.1 FM and 1160 AM, airing at 3:45.
Two Heritage Conference rivals meet today when seventh-seeded Conemaugh Valley visits number two Northern Cambria at 4:30. The Colts are 13-6 and the Blue Jays are 9-11. The same two teams split a doubleheader on May 7th, with Northern Cambria taking the first game, 4-0 and Conemaugh Valley winning the second one, 2-0. Airtime will be 4:15 on Renda Digital TV.
Also in Class A, eleventh-seeded Purchase Line travels to number three Claysburg-Kimmel this afternoon. The Red Dragons are 6-13 and the Bulldogs are 13-7.
In triple-A today, number five Marion Center, the Heritage Conference runner-up, will visit number four Philipsburg-Osceola. The Stingers come into the game 12-5 in the District 6 rankings, 12-6 counting the Heritage Conference game against Conemaugh Township, which did not count in the rankings.
SOFTBALL
There are four class A softball games today, all of them involving Heritage Conference teams. Top seed Conemaugh Valley plays number nine Portage.
Number two Claysburg-Kimmel welcomes number ten Penns Manor.
Third seed Purchase Line will host number six Bishop McCort.
And number five Homer-Center is on the road at number four Juniata Valley.
One Heritage Conference team is in action in the Triple-A playoffs. Number eight Cambria Heights visits number on Bedford.
