The Homer-Center Wildcats rolled in their first-round Class A playoff matchup with Northern Bedford.
Mark Bertig has the story.
Wildcats coach Scott Bauer says the Wildcats, who loaded the bases in five of the seven innings, were patient at the plate.
Bauer says winning this game, with its unique set of challenges, was gratifying for the Wildcats, especially the seniors.
Homer-Center starter Dom Shimko was grateful for the solid defense behind him.
Shimko says the offensive output put him at ease on the mound.
Homer-Center’s next opponent, MMI, is a prep school from District 2, in Luzerne County. They are 8-13 this season and won the District 2 championship, 5-4 over Susquehanna. There are only three teams in Class A in the district.
