Once again, strong storms rolling through the area caused power outages yesterday.
This time, only five incidents of power lines coming down were reported by Indiana County 911. The first was reported on Rayne Church Road in Rayne Township at 11:46 AM. Then three consecutive calls for the White Township area. The first was on Lodge Road at 5:02 PM, then two within minutes of each other around 7:00 PM on Whittier Drive and Old Route 119 South. Indiana fire association was called out for each of those incidents. The last call was on Wandin Road in Green Township that brought Commodore fire department at 7:20 PM.
As of this hour, Penelec reports 189 of its customers without power, with most of the outages in Montgomery and Canoe Townships. REA energy reported widespread outages last night as well, but as of this morning, power was restored to all of its members.
