A Lucernemines teen was ordered to serve probation for breaking into cars in Indiana Borough.
Court documents show 19-year-old William Zahorchak was ordered to serve 18 months of probation each for prohibited offensive weapons and evading arrest, and an additional 12 months for theft. The sentences were ordered to run consecutively. Zahorchak was arrested in the early morning hours of November 6th in connection with a report of him and another person going through backyards and breaking into cars in the 100 block of Wherle Way. He and another person were seen fleeing by police, and officers found Zahorchak hiding behind a bush. He was found with a loaded .38 caliber handgun and some of the stolen items.
A co-conspirator in the thefts, 19-year-old Colin Daugherty, is facing charges of loitering or prowling at night and evading arrest or detention on foot. A formal arraignment is set for July 28th.
