Darius Rucker is firing back after someone trolled him about his 2013 song “Wagon Wheel.”
Over the weekend, the singer took to X to share a video of soccer player Weston McKennie singing the song, writing “let’s frigging go” in the caption. A fan responded by telling Rucker not to act like he came up with the song, to which the country singer said “I never once said I wrote it.” He also added “not the first cover to be a hit and won’t be the last.”
“Wagon Wheel” was co-written by Bob Dylan and Keith Secor of the “Old Crow Medicine Show” and originally released in 2004.
