Police in Blairsville have charged a local man with cruelty to animals.
Officers were sent out on Saturday to a home on South Walnut Street for the suspect yelling at a dog and punching it in the head. A witness informed police that the suspect was 29-year-old James Diaz.
Along with the cruelty charge, he is also accused of disorderly conduct. The citation was filed with District Judge Robert Bell Sr. in Blairsville.
