Thursday morning, the Indiana County Farm Bureau held its annual Legislative Farm and Agribusiness Tour.
The tour brings together local, state and federal elected officials with Indiana County farmers and agribusiness leaders to discuss opportunities and challenges in agriculture, while also strengthening the bonds between policymakers and those who grow our food.
Attendees were also given a tour of the host site, Bull Barn Fence Corporation in Blairsville, which specializes in the production of high-tensile woven wire fences.
President of the Farm Bureau Steven DeHaven says that this event is important to them, as it gives farmers a chance to connect with lawmakers about pressing issues.
State Representative Jim Struzzi attended the event and says that it’s vital to passing laws that help local farming families.
