The River Valley School District has published detailed reports of the mold investigations at all of the district’s schools, and they find nothing alarming. The tests were conducted by Ed Lampl Professional Environmental & Home Inspections.
At Saltsburg Elementary, the only building which had a concern, the company found that interior air samples had low or non-detectable fungal concentrations on September 10th. Very small amounts of mold spores were found in some carpeted rooms, most likely being tracked in on shoes. The report notes there was substantial seasonal fungal activity outside the school that could be making its way to the building from a hillside that was graded toward the building, and the company recommended fixing the hillside before cleaning the carpets. A post-cleaning report on September 14th found no mold and no further mitigation needed.
The testing found no mold amplification at Blairsville Elementary or River Valley High School and no mitigation needed.
