Two Indiana Borough Police officers will be honored today for their heroic actions in the line of duty.
The event is part of the annual celebration by the group Amen Corner with the “Starsky and Hutch” award at their annual luncheon today in Pittsburgh. Sgt. Jeffrey Hoag and Patrolman Andrew Kosmack are being recognized for their efforts in an incident in January of this year where they were able to interrupt a break-in and stabbing of a woman at a home on Oak Street. The suspect, Detrolen Hobbs of Maryland, was subdued and taken into custody, and the two also performed life-saving measures to help the victim.
The award recognizes officers who go above and beyond the call of duty in action, teamwork or life-saving heroics.
