The Public Utility Commission on Thursday denied FirstEnergy Pennsylvania’s proposal to automatically switch customers who have chosen another supplier back to their default energy supplier when their contract expires.
The vote by the PUC board was 3-2. Instead of adopting FirstEnergy’s request, the PUC approved an expedited review of auto-renewals, ordering its Office of Competitive Market Oversight to report back by June 1st of next year.
